Del Mar I

The Del Mar series explores the healing power of nature and place. Highlighting the raw wood and how it interacts with the movement of the paint creates an ethereal landscape. Inspired by the vertical nature of the cliffs of Del Mar, the vertical landscapes of Del Mar I and Del Mar II coincide as a pair.

Jean Cate is a Chicago based artist and owner of Martha Mae: Art Supplies & Beautiful Things and The Center of Order of Experimentation. She studied painting, drawing and ceramics at the School of the Art Institute of Chicago.
