Reflect & Connect: A Tea and Journaling Workshop with Danielle Chutinthranond of Monsoon Pottery | April 4th @ Martha Mae Studio (1st Seating)

Join Chicago-based artist and tea practitioner, Danielle Chutinthranond of Monsoon Pottery, for an intentional gathering that blends the art of tea with the joy of personal reflection. Attendees will enjoy a guided gong fu tea tasting paired with thoughtful journaling prompts using Martha Mae: Art Supplies & Beautiful Things glass dip pens, artisan inks, and Japanese paper.

This workshop includes:

• Learning how to pair a tea practice with a journaling practice
• Participating in quick journaling prompts and discussing reflections as a group
• A handmade tasting sized porcelain tea cup to use at the workshop and to take home
• A glass dip pen, bottle of ink, and Midori notebook to use during the workshop and to take home
• A hands-on demo on how to use glass dip pens
• Light snacks

Danielle is a Thai American daughter of restaurateurs and the artist behind Monsoon Pottery. Her tea journey began during the pandemic when she acquired a gaiwan and became curious about gong fu cha. Since then, she’s created an interdisciplinary relationship between her porcelain and tea practices. Danielle teaches clay and tea workshops in Chicago. She sees teaching as an opportunity to inspire others to create their own rituals and practices that encourage reflection and introspection. Outside of tea and pottery, she enjoys journaling, reading, attending lectures, and visiting museums.

This workshop is open to all! Please note that this is an in-person event at the Martha Mae Studio (1727 W Grand Ave, Chicago, IL 60622) on April 4th from 10:00am-12:00pm, with convenient street parking available. The studio is located on the second floor with only stairs available. We can't wait to see you there!
