Neocolor II Watersoluble Wax Pastel Set of 84
Neocolor II Watersoluble Wax Pastel Set of 84
The quality of Neocolor II Aquarelle wax water soluble pastels have excellent lightfastness, high pigment concentration, and adapt well to a variety of techniques. Neocolor II Crayons are softer than colored pencils, denser than wax crayons, and water soluble. They are extremely responsive to a wet brush. Wet and dry techniques can be combined in the same drawing. Because of their strong pigmentation, light colors cover dark colors and vice-versa. The pastels can be used on paper, fabric, wood and other surfaces. Neocolors are soft enough to smudge with your fingertips, yet much firmer than oil pastels. Scrape off one or more layers of color to create an engraved sgraffito effect. Learn more about Neocolor II techniques here.
Approximate dimensions: Individual Neocolor II Crayons measure 4.2" × .3
Swiss made from 1915 to the present day. Caran d’Ache was founded when Geneva had no other pencil maker. The city was filled with watchmakers and jewelers and that atmosphere of detail and innovation affected this company. They designed the first mechanical pencil, invented the first watercolor pencil and their line of pencils, luminance 6901, won a certificate for the highest lightfastness. In all their products there’s care for the environment in which they source materials, the quality of craftsmanship, and the safety and experience of the people whose hands will eventually hold these tools.
